Nice, France

Right now I am currently in Nice, France. First day I came I got really sick. I was dizzy and cold. I lost my appetite and did not eat anything for the first day. Day 2 was a little better. I was still dizzy and cold but the dizziness started to fade. i hope I get better so I could go skiing!

Fundraisers

A few weeks ago at student council we started a competition (kind of). The goal is to earn the most money in a day or so and give all of it to charity. We formed 3 groups. One group already has finished their fund raiser. the 1st team earned about 500 USD off a taco bar. The tacos were puny and costs about 3 to 4 dollars. Our team plan is to make this bingo night thing. It will cost about a dollar to enter and play. If you win there will be prizes like baked goods. Honestly I don't know if we'll earn more money then 500 USD. Hope we do.

Romeo and Juliet

At humanities at school we are getting ready to do a play 2 or 3 months from now. It's called Romeo and Juliet. We just finished reading the play and are know choosing parts. We're going to play this play at around summer time here in Dostyk Village. The residents here bring their food and have a picnic while we do the play. I wish I could be watching it and eating...

Winter pork chop

Today we are going to have pork chop for dinner. Instead of using the oven to cook it we used the grill outside. Hope it makes a difference!

Science

For the past few days we have been using microscopes to look at cells. Some that can be seen by the naked eye and some that can't. Some of the ones that I saw were called spirogyra and amoeba. All of them were fascinating. Our compound microscopes could magnify the object up to 1000 times but the resolution would be terrible. We're now done doing that we're starting cells now.

Walking on the Ural river

Few hours ago I just went out of the "village" here with my mom and dad. I expected it to be boring but it was actually pretty fun. On the way I took
some pictures with the iPod. It was hard to imagine that it was once flowing water with fish because of all that snow!

Dad birthday

Today is my dad's birthday. Here are some before and after pictures. Cake is 100 percent homemade. Sister and mom made this delicious cake. Hoping to eat this during breakfast time. Happy birthday dad!
